The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation's (IRCTC) mobile application and website on Tuesday once again faced another outage within days since a similar issue was reported marking the third time when the services were affected in December.
Notably, all three times the disruption was initiated around 9.50 AM, which was 10 minutes before the Tatkal ticket bookings opened. Today, till around 9.48 am, there were no reports of any outages.

Taking it to social media, several users expressed discontent over the frequent outage.
On a lighter note, one user posted on X, "I am thinking of going to Goa for New Year party. But the railway cheated us. IRCTC down. No Tatkal booking"

Pointing to alleged corruption over Tatkal ticket booking, another user tagged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and posted, " IRCTC shutting down its servers during tatkal booking time?? Is it to help those agents? What a nonsense & pathetic way. This looks like big corruption happening in IRCTC tatkal booking. Didn’t expect this from central govt. @AshwiniVaishnaw @IRCTCofficial We need answers."

According to Downdetector, around 47% of users were unable to access the website, while 42% faced issues with the app, and 10% could not complete ticket bookings.
Further numbers from Downdetector revealed that the outage, which began around 10 am, resulted in login problems, difficulties in searching schedules and fares, and transaction errors.
The similar issue was reported on December 26 and December 9, when the IRCTC app and website stopped working. Many people complained on social media about the issue. Downdetector, a site that tracks online problems, showed a large number of reports. IRCTC has not yet commented on the outage.
When users opened the IRCTC app, they saw an error message saying, "unable to perform action due to maintenance activity." The IRCTC website also displayed a message stating, "Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available." Downdetector reported over 2,700 complaints about the problem.
Some media reports also said that when some services were resumeddc188, only premium-priced tickets remained available at double the standard rates.
