Jacob Duffy starred with the ball for the second straight game for the Kiwis, who dismissed the visitors for 141 runs after setting a 187-run target. Michael Hay, who was named the Player of the Match, had earlier clobbered an unbeaten 41 off 19 balls to give the BlackCaps the final flourish.
The hosts now lead the three-match series by an unassailable 2-0 margin, having won the opener by eight runs. Jacob Duffy had taken three wickets in a decisive 13th over to earn New Zealand a dramatic eight-run victory in the first game. Duffy claimed the wickets of Kusal Mendis (46), Kusal Perera (0) and Kamindu Mendis (0), which sparked Sri Lanka's collapse, having reached 121 without loss in pursuit of a 173-run target.
Despite Mizoram's early dominance and superior attacking prowess, it was Bengal who seized the opportunity. Shivani Kumari (18th minute)scored the only goal of the match.
